Truck hits cyclist in Warrenville

A bicyclist was struck by a semitrailer truck just after midnight Friday in Warrenville, authorities said.

The truck was traveling south on Route 59 when it struck the adult male bicyclist at Continental Drive, according to police.

The bicyclist suffered major injuries and was transported to Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, where he remains.

The accident remains under investigation. Warrenville police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident to call them at (630) 393-2131.
