Annual Free Garden Walk offers self guided tour of private gardens

A free garden walk will be hosted by the Gardeners of Central Lake County on Saturday, June 29th 2013 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The self-guided walk will showcase five interesting and varied specialty gardens located in and around Vernon Hills and Lincolnshire.

Highlights of the gardens include interesting groupings of perennials including many native plants, wide assortment of trees and shrubs including unusual varieties, colorful planted containers, waterfall overlooking a back yard with a model garden railway, trains and miniature villages nestled in greenery and around ponds, shade gardens, a prairie surrounding a beehive, and many more garden gems.

Tour the gardens at your own leisure, enjoy the natural beauty and possibly take home some new ideas!

Maps and directions for the walk will be available at Cook Memorial Library at 413 N. Milwaukee Ave, Libertyville, Fremont Library at 1170 N. Midlothian Road in Mundelein, Vernon Area Library 300 Olde Half Day Rd, Lincolnshire, IL and our website, www.gclcil.commid- June.

The club meets the second Monday of the month at 7:30 p.m. at the Cross Life Evangelical Free Church, 431 W. Austin in Libertyville at 7:30 pm Guests are always welcome!
