Lombard President-Elect Giagnorio presents District 2 Trustee candidate
LOMBARD, Illinois—Village of Lombard President-Elect Keith Giagnorio will present Mike Fugiel as his choice for Trustee of District 2 at the May 4, 2012 Lombard Village Board meeting.
A District 2 Trustee vacancy awaits appointment by Giagnorio, which became vacant with his win as Lombard Village President. Fugiel, who has been a resident of District 2 for the past 15 years, has both experience and a desire to give back to the community.
Giagnorio received letters of interest from three residents who desired to fill the remaining term of District 2 Trustee. However, he felt Fugiel would be the best fit.
“I am convinced that Mike will assume this position seamlessly and will represent the residents of District 2 well,” Giagnorio stated. “He has the experience I was looking for and the desire to represent Lombard,” he added.
Fugiel previously served as the Executive Director of the Lombard Park District from 1997-2007. He holds a master's degree and a bachelor's degree, both in education from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. He is involved locally in the Rotary Club of Lombard and the Glenbard East Athletic Boosters Association.
Giagnorio's selection for the District 2 Trustee replacement will come before the Village Board for approval at the May 4 meeting, which begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Village Hall.
