Hawthorn Middle South "Blacks Out Bullying"

On Friday, April 26, Hawthorn Middle South students took a stand to “Black Out Bullying.” Students donned dark shirts and headed to the parking lot, where they spelled out HMS (for Hawthorn Middle South) in an effort to visually stand up against bullying.

Throughout the year, the school has been working to increase students' sense of belonging and connection to their school and community through Advisory Program activities and special learning and discussion opportunities. The goal of the “Black Out” Day is to empower students to take a stand when they see bullying occur.
