Island Lake budget proposed:

The Island Lake village board could approve a $7.5 million budget for the 2014 fiscal year when it meets at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at village hall, 3720 Greenleaf Ave. The spending plan calls for slightly more revenue than spending. Projected spending is up about 1.2 percent from the current budget, records show. It’s the first budget increase in several years. The new fiscal year begins June 1.
