Vernon Hills High School Student Participate in Best Buddies Walk

This weekend members of the Vernon Hills High School Best Buddies organization participated in a walk at Loyola university to raise money for the Best Buddies organization and create awareness.

Best Buddies® is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

The Students at Vernon Hills raised over 500 dollars. Secretary Nikki Spence was the team leader for the walk and will be the co-President of the organization next year. Nikki believes the organization is great for the students that are IDD but it also promotes students treating everyone better at the school and making the environment better at the school.
