Susan Tenney, medical malpractice expert, joins Schaumburg-based Assurance as vice president
Susan Tenney has joined Assurance, one of the largest and most awarded independent insurance brokerages in the United States, as a vice president. She has more than 18 years of experience in medical malpractice and professional liability for the health care industry.
The many years Tenney has spent in the medical malpractice market has solidified her knowledge and connections in the industry. Her experience and ability to preserve long-term client relationships will be a catalyst in building and propelling the new Medical Malpractice division at Assurance.
“We're excited that Susan will be joining our expanding senior living and health care practice,” said Assurance CEO Tony Chimino. “Her expertise in medical malpractice insurance offers us the opportunity to explore a new discipline and provide our health care clients with additional coverage options and resources.”
“I built my clients' trust and repeating business through hard work, dedication to their specific needs and the ability to determine the next best opportunity for their business,” Tenney said.
While visiting Assurance Tenney was impressed with the energy of the people citing they not only talk the talk but walk the walk. She said she was drawn like a moth to the flame to the full portfolio of insurance disciplines Assurance offers.
“Assurance will give my clients access to all lines of their insurance needs at one point of reference,” she said. “That is truly a killer line of defense when faced with today's market in medical malpractice.”
“When I spoke with others at Assurance, I found their support to be noteworthy, and after I began working at the agency, I realized the magnitude of the support and how Assurance is not just invested in employees' success but will do everything in its power to help employees realize that success. I feel very excited and exhilarated to be given this opportunity, and I am up to the challenge.”
Prior to joining Assurance, Tenney was a professional liability consultant for Keane Insurance Group, Inc. While there, she presided over some of the company's most prestigious accounts. She started her career as a vice president in the health care division of a leading global insurance broker.
She is a member of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) of Greater St. Louis. In addition, she served eight years on the State Convention Planning Committee for the MGMA of Missouri.
