Stevenson celebrates basketball, debate success

Several hundred Stevenson High School students turned out Monday morning to celebrate a pair of big weekend accomplishments.

Fans cheered the boy's basketball team, which wrapped up its season with a second-place finish in the state IHSA Class 4A tournament in Peoria. The team fell to Simeon in the championship game 58-40 to finish the season 29-5.

They also cheered debate team member Eric Ramoutar's second-place finish in Congressional debate at the state IHSA debate tournament at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington.
