New Whole Foods opens in Kildeer

A new 40,000-square-foot Whole Foods supermarket opened Wednesday in Kildeer.

The store at 20281 N. Rand Road replaces a Whole Foods operation in Palatine. It’s among more than 325 stores in North America and the United Kingdom.

The relocation of the Palatine store features high-quality natural and organic foods in a new convenient and contemporary setting, company officials said in a news release Wednesday.

The store is designed to feel like a gathering of “boutiques within a story” to offer customers an intimate and inviting shopping experience. Among the highlights are a “cooking” department, diverse foods from around the globe, grab and go pastries and a catering service, officials said.
