Pulse fashion show March 14 to benefit Women At Risk International
The Pulse presents “Awakening Fashion Show,” at 7 p.m. March 14, at the Meadows Club showcasing thirteen top student designs from hot talent at The Illinois Institute of Art-Schaumburg. The work of three past graduates, as well as two Chicago land designers, Victor Miller and Horacio Nieto will also be featured. This annual event, will benefit Women At Risk International, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization that helps women who have both been trafficked and those at risk of being sold into sex trade in over 30 countries, including the United States.
The fashion show is entirely produced by the students, everything from lighting to model castings to finding looks for the show. We decided to do something different than in years past, and use both student and Chicago based designers for the model looks instead of partnering with retail stores for the looks.
All proceeds from the fashion show, benefit Women at Risk International, and will be gifted to the charity on the night of the show. “We are hoping for a full house!” says event coordinator and student Klaudia Starzec, who wants to set the bar high for students next year who will continue the initiative.
Tickets are available for $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Cocktail hour starts at 7pm where drinks are will be available for purchase and a silent auction will be going on until the hour and a half long fashion show starting at 7:45 pm. Over 1,100 students attend The Illinois Institute of Art-Schaumburg, located at 1000 Plaza Drive in Schaumburg, IL.
