Walgreens coming to Lakemoor

Construction of a Walgreens store is expected to begin within the next two months on the southeast corner of Darrell Road and Route 120 in Lakemoor. Village officials say the arrival involved the first use of a new streamlined “progressive” approval process to cut red tape as part of a push to attract businesses to town. Another part of the village’s marketing push involved a partnership with the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning for yearlong update of the comprehensive plan, which is scheduled to be adopted by the village board during its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28 at the police department building, 27901 Concrete Drive.
