Poplar Creek set to appoint new library board trustee

Mary Prosser, who is running unopposed for a seat on the Poplar Creek Public Library District Board, could get an early start on the role next month.

Prosser is expected to be appointed March 21 to fill a spot left vacant by Amy Ellis, who resigned in January. The board was set to make the appointment at its meeting Thursday night, but Prosser was unable to appear at the meeting, library director Patricia Hogan said.

Board President Susan Spooner and Prosser are the only two candidates running for two openings on the seven-person board in the April 9 election.
