St. Isidore School gala on tap for Feb. 23

“An Evening of Pure Imagination” is the theme and call to action for the St. Isidore Catholic School’s major fundraising event of the year, scheduled for Saturday evening, Feb. 23, at Abbington Banquets, in Glen Ellyn.

The event, which annually raises more than $65,000 in support of the St. Isidore School Improvement Fund, features a Grand Raffle with a grand prize of $15,000. Other cash prizes are $1,500, $1,000 and $500. Cost of a ticket is $100 with only 750 tickets being sold.

“The Grand Raffle is the highlight of the evening,” said St. Isidore parent volunteer Debbie Isoda, who along with her husband Randy co-chair the event. “As the raffle draws near you can feel the anticipation and excitement building in the room. It is tremendous fun.

“It’s so important for our school and its programs, the costs for which are far from covered by tuition,” Isoda said. “In turn, the more money we can raise helps keep down the cost of tuition. We urge as much participation as possible. And you don’t need to be present at the event to win.”

Cassidy Tire and Service is corporate sponsor of the Grand Raffle, while other major sponsors include the Ho Family and Cameo Dentistry, Lindahl Marine Contractors, Tukaiz Printing, Naborowksi Orthodontics and St. Francis High School.

Isoda can be contacted by anyone interested in purchasing a Grand Raffle Ticket through the school office at (630) 529-9323, or they can be purchased online at the parish website, www.stisidoreparish.org.

In addition to the Grand Raffle, “An Evening of Pure Imagination” offers an evening of “pure entertainment,” including a four course gourmet dinner, unlimited “top shelf” bar and grand dessert bar, as well as both a live and silent auction. A DJ will be on hand to provide the music for dancing and a fun photo booth will be available as well.

Auction items range from gift certificates to local merchants, to pro sporting event tickets, to luxurious vacations and virtually everything in between. More than 300 items will be available to bid on via either the live or silent auction, donated by dozens of individual and corporate contributors both locally and from across the Chicago area.

Cost of a ticket to the Gala is $80, which is tax deductible.

“We at St. Isidore, as do all Catholic schools, face ongoing challenges to ensure our current and future students achieve the academic growth we expect as well as the Christian values we cherish,” said Cyndi Collins, principal at St. Isidore School. “This can only be accomplished through the continued support of the amazing parents and generous supporters of St. Isidore. We expect another great event with this year’s auction/dinner dance and thank everyone involved in advance for their ongoing support.”
