A funding mechanism has not been determined, nor has the board decided if the proposal should become a reality. Should that investigation continue?Absolutely, until we can determine as a community where the money is coming from we should not plan to erect this new village hall. I don't want to see one hundred dollar vehicle stickers, or parking tickets.Do you support Police Chief McCorkle and the work he has done or do you believe a new chief is needed?I do believe a new police chief is needed. He always has to remember he took an oath to serve and protect all the people he serves and the officers that follow him.Political bickering, legal battles and other political issues have hurt the morale of village employees and the town's image. What steps would you take to improve Island Lake's image? There will always be political differences between people, however if one follows his oath of office and listens to the public and makes decissions in the publics best interests everything else falls into place.Talking with your friends and neighbors, what seems to be their biggest public safety concern? Explain the concern as you see it, and discuss how you think it should be addressed?I would say the biggest concern is for their children and property. This can be addressed by assigning a police officer to both of our schools located in the village, and doing house checks and building checks, that means by actually getting out of the squad and pulling on doors. What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?Community policing. During an officers tour of duty have him or her get out of the squad car and walk the business area and also neighborhoods
