Planning, zoning, and dept. heads there is a lot of Quality people who can bring ideas and help to Decisions of the village instead of a select few.Key Issue 2 Keeping up on the needs of residents and local business From personal conversations with people Staying in touch not hidden.Key Issue 3 The Senior bus program used to be able to serve ALL village residents, now it only serves the seniors in Grant Township. This ruling by the current board eliminated the bus service to the entire Leisure Village community and everyone living in Antioch Township that is in the municipal boundary of Fox Lake.Questions Answers What makes you the best candidate for the job?I have served on various appointed boards in Fox Lake for (28) years, and offer the most experience of planning zoning than any of the candidates running for Trustee. I have raised my kids to college level, and I am looking to give more back to the town I have called home my entire life!Given the delicate balance between the need for revenue and over-taxing local businesses, what is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.The local sales taxation should be causing a Tea party in town?..this administration has instituted a 911 tax on every cell phone in the area to pay for the 911 center. This administration has also instituted a utility tax that was to be temporary and appears on every gas electric bill within Fox Lake. This was to be temporary; now they call it reserve funds?.so much for temporary!Talking with your friends and neighbors, what seems to be their biggest public safety concern? Explain the concern as you see it, and discuss how you think it should be addressed.There seems to be a lot of older teenagers and young adults walking around without a purpose. In the summer months mainly in plaza and downtown areas. It makes most of the people uncomfortable, so they wait till they leave or they go some where else. These people walking through the parking lots sides of streets. They are in areas they really don't belong and they just make you feel uncomfortable. It would be nice for these people to have something to do other than roam these areas. It just leaves opportunity for something to happen otherwise.In these tight economic times, municipal budgets have to be prioritized. Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?Unfortunately the budget is not available to me at this time I would have cherished a look at it.What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?We have a handful of parks spread out around our village. It would be nice to see a park facility really close to our downtown. One that would have needs for infants to seniors to participate at. As to allow residents to Socialize or have enough area to be slightly secluded. It seems as if we have events For young and mature. There is really nothing to bring everybody together as a whole community.
