Prioritize them, and briefly discuss why you believe each to be critical, and how the board should go about addressing them.Fiscal responsibility, back to basics - helping people Fiscal responsibility is first. The books need to be audited, and, the in-house bickering (lawsuits) needs to stop. When finances are under control, emphasis can be made on helping people, with bettering current programs and finding more ways to help.In the 21st Century, with municipalities gobbling up vacant land, why are townships needed? Should they be serving a new role? If so, what?Townships are currently needed as there are still unincorporated areas, and, Townships provide local services. The Townships have a better handle on the local area than a County agency would, and, Villages would not cover all areas. Townships provide road upkeep in unincorporated areas, handle assessments for the entire Township area, and, help the needy/Seniors in the entire Township area.What should be the primary responsibility of township government?To serve its local residentsIn these hard economic times, can you identify some township expenses/programs that could be trimmed or eliminated to reduce the tax burden?Reducing legal fees will free up a lot of Township money for needed services.What specific background or experience do you bring that makes you the best qualified candidate to serve as an elected official in the township?I have been monitoring the Township situation for the past 4+ years, attending monthly meetings and keeping up with news items related to it. I do not like all of the fighting (and lawsuits), and want to see cooperation at this level of government. I came forward during last years' "special meeting" (just before the annual meeting) that the Supervisor organized (and then said was not valid when we all were there), to ensure that we could have a discussion, and that all that wanted to, could be heard. At the Annual Meeting directly after that, I was voted to be Moderator for the Annual Meeting.
