Library Launches New Online Book Club

If you love to read and discuss books but can't make it to the library, the West Chicago Public Library District has the solution for you. Beginning next week, the Library will launch its new Online Book Club. Each month we will be reading a brand new book with discussion questions and conversation posted regularly on our book discussion page online.

The first book to be discussed is The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls. Copies of the book are available at the Library for check out on a first come, first served basis. Official discussion will begin online on Tuesday, February 12.

“This book club can be a great way to discuss books with others in a group without ever leaving the comfort of home,” says Melody E. Coleman, Administrative Librarian. “Readers can become an active and important part of a community that shares in their love of reading.”

The first step to joining the club is to create a free Shelfari account online. Readers can find quick and easy instructions to do this on the Library web site at www.westchicago.lib.il.us. Then join the monthly discussion group 24/7, anytime it suits you, regardless of the hour. You can't be late for this book club meeting!

Should you have any questions about joining in, please contact the Adult Services Department at (630) 231-1552, x4.
