Libertyville church to send team to Haiti to improve school

Libertyville, IL- Trinity Community Church, a church in Libertyville, is sending a team of eleven people from the area to work on a school in Carrefour, Haiti from January 26 through February 2. Paul Farmer, a leading development voice in Haiti, advocates that education is one of the best gifts for the struggling country.

David Niblack, the Lead Pastor from Trinity, said “traveling to Haiti brings the chance to change lives and be changed ourselves.” David served as the chaplain at the Memorial Day ceremony in Cook Park for the past two years and has been glad to see the church connect to the community through Scouting events, Libertyville Days, and even a team from church that ran in the Twilight Shuffle together.

The church is raising money to purchase building supplies they will use while on site. Supplies are expensive in Haiti. David noted “the church would love to see the wider community stand behind us in our endeavor to improve education in a place that has been through tremendous loss.” The downtown Libertyville branch of BMO Harris bank is helping collect funds for the project. All donations are tax deductible. Checks should be made out to “Trinity Community Church” and can be given to a bank associate.
