Judge refuses to reduce bond for Ingleside man, mother
A Lake County judge denied a request to reduce bond for an Ingleside man and his mother who face drug induced homicide charges.
Judge Raymond Collins ruled Tuesday that bond should not change for Brian Stedronsky, 33, and his mother, Carolyn Stedronsky, 52, and they were returned to the Lake County jail.
Brian Stedronsky, 33, is held on $300,000, while Carolyn Stedronsky, 52, is held on $250,000.
The two, who live in the 35000 block of North Milwaukee Avenue in Ingleside, were arrested Dec. 4 and charged with giving Jeffrey Ferris, 30, a lethal amount of Fentanyl in September, said Lake County Sheriff's Sgt. Sara Balmes.
Balmes said deputies were called to the 34000 block of Oden Drive in Ingleside about 9 p.m. Sept. 18 after Ferris' body was found in the home.
Investigators said Ferris had been dropped off at his house by Brian Stedronsky, who sold Ferris two Fentanyl patches, Balmes said.
Brian Stedronsky told authorities that Ferris had cut open the patches and sucked out the medication, Balmes said.
According to drugs.com, Fentanyl patches are a highly addictive pain medication used to control chronic pain.
Balmes said Brian Stedronsky told detectives he purchased the Fentanyl patches from his mother, Carolyn Stedronsky, and that he had previously sold one other Fentanyl patch to Ferris.
Balmes said Carolyn Stedronsky took the Fentanyl patches from her husband, who was prescribed the medication for an injury.
Brian and Carolyn Stedronsky are scheduled to reappear in front of Lake County Judge John Phillips on Jan. 2.
