Curry paces Vernon Hills victory

Vernon Hills 64, Round Lake 53: Stephen Curry scored a game-high 23 points, including three 3-pointers, as the host Cougars won the North Suburban Prairie Division opener, snapping a three-game losing streak.

TJ Flis added a season-high 16 points for Vernon Hills (3-3), and Dylan McNamara also hit his season-best point total, chipping in 12. McNamara and Nate Rathod (8 points) sank three and two 3s, respectively.

Junior guard Karnell Wright scored 16 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, to lead Round Lake (0-5).
