We must be better stewards

For the most part, the dust has settled after our recent elections. But that doesn’t mean that there are no other important decisions remaining to be made.

In fact, we daily make decisions on which foods we choose to eat. It seems every couple of months another scientific study makes a claim on the nutrition of organic food both pro and con.

My personal decision is to know my farmers and choose to buy locally from them. But beyond that, I feel good about the field workers who need not be constantly exposed to chemicals just to do their job.

Finally, I guess I am asking people to consider this from a global perspective. Imagine how much more healthy the earth would be if big agriculture didn’t introduce all the pesticides, fungicides, herbicides onto our planet’s surface and rivers and oceans.

We should be better stewards of the land for the generations to come.
