Enjoy Early Music Series at the Byron Colby Barn
The Early Music Series at the Byron Colby Barn in Grayslake features highly acclaimed musicians performing music from the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque periods.
The restored 110-year-old Byron Colby Barn in Grayslake is a wonderful setting for Early Music, as its acoustics resemble the historical settings for which this music was composed. Incredible music and architectural beauty combine to create a delightful and unique experience.
The 11th season of the Early Music Series at the Byron Colby Barn opens Nov. 11, and includes the following performances:

Season tickets to all six performances in the Early Music Series can be purchased online for $90 per person at www.prairiecrossing.com/bcbarn. Admission to individual Early Music concerts is $18 for adults, and is available at the door only (cash or check). To inspire early appreciation for the arts, children under 16 are admitted free to Early Music Series concerts.
The Byron Colby Barn is at 1561 Jones Point Road, Grayslake, inside the Prairie Crossing conservation community. From I-94, exit Route 120 west, turn south at Route 45, then right at Jones Point Road. Ample free parking is located adjacent to the Barn.
Joel Spears is the founder and artistic director of Early Music at the Byron Colby Barn, and an active lutenist and guitarist based in the Chicago area. He has performed as a soloist and with ensembles including Lyric Opera of Chicago, Chicago Opera Theater, Seraphic Fire, Bella Voce, Ars Antigua, Music of the Baroque, the Chicago Early Music Consort, and the Harwood Early Music Ensemble. Joel is currently lute instructor at the Music Institute of Chicago.
