Free electronics recycling drop-off program Oct. 31
To assist residents with collecting old electronics and to ensure environmentally safe recycling of these materials, the Village, in partnership with the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC) and Supply-Chain Services, Inc. (SSI), has operated an Electronics Recycling Drop-off site at the Mount Prospect Public Works Facility since April of 2012.
The drop-off location has proven extremely successful the Village recycling in excess of 50,000 pounds of material since April 1st.
Due to conflict with winter operations the Village is only able to offer the drop-off location on a seasonal basis. The last day of operation for the drop-off site is Wednesday, October 31st between the hours of 10am and noon.
But rest assured we will be back in April 2013. We do recognize that recycling is a year round activity and to address your winter electronic recycling needs SWANCC hosts a drop-location every Saturday.
SWANCC's drop-off is located at the transfer station, which is on River Rd. across the street from Maryville Academy. The hours of operation are 9 to 11:30 a.m.
