Fox Valley Area Families dressed up to raise money for arts education at Fox Valley Rep Academy's 3rd Annual Masquerade Ball

Over 100 theater & arts supporters dressed up and celebrated the performing arts in the Fox Valley community by taking part in the 3rd Annual Masquerade Ball: Party at The Roundhouse on Sunday, October 21, 2012. With great food, magicians, dancing, games, haunted trail, cake walks, music by Something 2 Dance 2, and wonderful families, a good time was had by all.

The all-ages celebration was held at Two Brothers Roundhouse in Aurora and was the main sponsor of the evening. Other generous sponsors included Kohl's, St. Charles Noon Rotary and It's a Girl Thing. Volunteer companies included the Kohl's Cares Program, photography by Tracy Whiteside Photography, and face painting by Kimberly G. Morris.

Fox Valley Rep Academy student Katie Jackovin and Connor Madziarcyzk performed songs from CHICAGO as part of their current advanced Black Box Theater Class, while young students from FVR Academy's “Into The Woods” class serenaded the audience with a sampling from their upcoming showcase.

“Our 3rd Annual Masquerade Ball helped us raise nearly $5,000, which will help us to grant scholarships for more youth to attend our Performing Arts Academy,” says Development Manager Sandy Shelby of Elgin. “This program has shown tremendous growth and success since its inception. What a treat to watch these kids gain such self confidence and skills, something that will benefit them their entire life.”

The Fox Valley Repertory Performing Arts Academy is a non-profit organization and features some of the Chicago area's most respected teachers, directors, actors and musicians, and is home to over 1,000 local youth students and offers the most extensive curriculum in the Fox Valley area: classes, camps, workshops, youth ensemble productions, and internship/apprenticeship programs. Since 2006, the Performing Arts Academy has had over 2,800 student enrollments, offered over 250 individual classes in a variety of disciplines and presented 20 Youth Ensemble shows on the Pheasant Run Mainstage.
