Schaumburg firefighters ball nets $10,000 for breast cancer research

The Schaumburg Professional Firefighters Association’s Pink Tie Ball was held Oct. 12 and Local 4092 raised about $10,000 to put toward the fight against breast cancer.

The firefighters wanted to have a classy night out, while raising money for the cause. Local 4092 invited an array of community members, ranging from firefighters, police officers, village officials, public officials, village employees, friends, family and the guests of honor were the numerous survivors who were in attendance.

The Pink Tie Ball was held at Embassy Suites in Schaumburg, which was more than generous with donations. The evening was sold out and the group hopes to have begun a tradition that will last a lifetime and help end breast cancer once and for all.
