Shining Stars nominations now being accepted

Each year, the village recognizes individuals and organizations that contribute to making Mount Prospect a better community at the "Celestial Celebration."

The event will be held on a new night at a new venue, Friday, Feb. 1 at Victoria in the Park Banquets.

Tthe Special Events Commission is now accepting nominations for the 2013 Shining Star Awards.

If you have a neighbor that would bend over backward for anyone in need, or know someone who is always there but asks nothing in return? Then you might know a Shining Star candidate. They can only win if they are nominated.

Nomination forms and category descriptions are available on the web site, www.mountprospect.org. Nominations must be received by Nov. 15.
