Westmont's Charism to host Caregiver Town Hall Meetings in Joliet

In the US, there are over 65 million family caregivers currently taking care of a loved one. To provide free support services, resources and programs for family caregivers taking care of a loved one with a memory disorder or any chronic and/or progressive illness, caregivers rely on the services provided by Leeza's Place, “A Place for Family Caregivers.”

To support the Joliet chapter of Leeza's Place, Charism Eldercare Services, Westmont, a leader in caring for seniors and their families, will sponsor activities during the month of October. This includes the organization's annual Town Hall meetings for all caregivers on October 25 at 6:30 PM and a second meeting on October 30 at 11:00 AM. Charism also will be underwriting the cost of food for both the Town Hall meetings and weekly support group meetings during the month of October.

“After more than 30 years in nursing and healthcare, I recognize how important it is for caregivers to have a resource like Leeza's Place. I hope that our sponsorship and our active participation in the weekly support group meetings will provide alternatives for peace of mind for the caregivers,” said Mardy Chizek, an Eldercare Navigator and president of Charism Eldercare Services, adding that “family caregivers need to know that they are not alone and that assistance and support are available when they need it.”
