Flag protocol: Field of stars should be in top left corner
I have attended the Palatine October Fest the past few years sponsored by the Rotary club and each year I have noticed that the American flag is not displayed correctly — the one in the back of the stage and the one when you enter the main tent.
I have pointed this out to people who are working at the fest and they see nothing wrong. The correct way to display the flag is — no matter how you display the flag vertically or horizontally — the union (the blue section with the stars) should always be in the top left corner as you are looking at it, not backward as they had it.
