Grenadiers rock marching band tournament

The Elk Grove High School Marching Grenadiers won first place in Class AAA, “Best Percussion” in Class AAA, and second place overall at the Grayslake North Knights Marching Tournament on Sept. 16. The Rolling Meadows Marching Band came in second in Class AAA and Lakes Community was the overall grand champion. The Marching Grenadiers are under the direction of Ron Fiorito, Jr., director of bands at Elk Grove High School, and will be the only Illinois high school band to perform at the halftime show of the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans on Jan. 2, 2013.
