Facts show Obama made gains on jobs
We read on this editorial page and hear from Mitt Romney every day how President Obama has had his chance and he failed. We are stuck on 8 percent unemployment — time for someone else?
The reality is the jobs were lost in the months prior to his inauguration and the first few months he was in office (he couldn’t impact anything in the first few months). We have had job growth for 27 straight months, adding 4.3 million jobs. The unemployment rate had been well above 9 percent. The Dow dropped to 6500 in March of 2009 — was that the president’s fault, too? The Dow is currently around 13,000 — the market must think he’s OK to run the economy.
Why can’t we stick with facts rather than lies and hyperbole to make our points? But then most of these folks couldn’t make their point and would have to say why they don’t like the president.
