Schaumburg unkind to Walsh supporters
I was a participant in the Schaumburg Septemberfest Parade. I was a volunteer walking the parade in support of the election of 8th district congressman, Joe Walsh. I have walked in five such parades this election cycle in villages such as Villa Park and the city of Elgin.
Without a doubt, the reception our parade group received in Schaumburg was the most violent and insulting to the American ideal of free speech that I have experienced.
We all celebrate the diversity of our country and the right of individuals to support candidates of their choice. This celebration does not include verbal and physical intimidation of those who think differently than themselves.
Schaumburg is diminished because of these individuals and their leaders.
