Glendale Heights offers Historic House tours

Visitors can experience what life was like 100 years ago as Glendale Heights offers tours of the village's Historic House.

Tours are offered from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Historic House at the corner of Windy Point Drive and Paul Avenue.

Tours of the house will take visitors inside the house for a look at what life was like when families had a working pump on the kitchen sink, a wood burning stove in the kitchen, oil burning light fixtures, and a player piano in the front parlor.

The exhibit hall is devoted to the display of the history of Glendale Heights, from the original settlers who arrived in the 1830s to the incorporation of the village in 1959 and its growth and development over the past 50-plus years.

Kids also will enjoy the working train set and farmland exhibit.
