Gunman on bike kills Chicago teen, injures woman
Police say a gunman firing from a mountain bike has killed a 17-year-old Chicago boy and injured a woman on the city’s South Side.
A 33-year-old man was also killed in a separate shooting in the Bridgeport neighborhood.
Police say the teen who was killed was shot in the face and abdomen Friday evening. He had been standing on a street near the woman who was injured. She was hit in the thigh, but was in good condition.
A motive for the shooting was unclear. Police said witnesses were not cooperating with detectives.
Chicago has seen a rise in homicides this month.
A total of 19 people were shot and injured late Thursday and early Friday. Thirteen of them were shot over a 30-minute period.
