Miss Septemberfest to be crowned Aug. 31

Schaumburg’s Miss Septemberfest, a scholarship program sponsored by The Rotary Club of Schaumburg/Hoffman Estates, will be crowned at the club’s noon luncheon meeting on Friday, Aug. 31 at Bridges of Poplar Creek Country Club in Hoffman Estates.

This year’s finalists are Mariah Ghant and Laura Jensen of Conant High School, Siobhan Geraghty and Taryn Neubecker of Schaumburg High School, and Andreya DeLarco of St. Viator High School. All 22 applicants were interviewed on Aug. 11 and judged on four criteria — poise, character, community involvement and knowledge of Schaumburg.

All five finalists will take part in Schaumburg’s Septemberfest activities over Labor Day weekend.
