Leaders are elected to serve, not gain
Leaders of Schaumburg Township Republican Organization, also known as STRO, endorse Congressman Joe Walsh, who continues to fight for less government spending, smaller government and fiscal responsibility of government officials. At the same time, Walsh holds town hall meetings with these township Republicans, the leaders of STRO, who hold part-time elected positions at the township and refuse to give up the perk of free life and health insurance to the township supervisor and three trustees, costing township taxpayers over $60,000 per year.
The purpose to hold elected office is to serve the community, not the community serve you. How can someone preach fiscal responsibility when this intentional financial burden is cast on taxpayers year after year as they go door to door asking Republicans to get out the vote for Joe Walsh?
We taxpayers and voters need to do more homework and just not take the word on printed handouts. They need to practice what they preach and stop double crossing us or get out! Better yet, pass out on a printed handouts the list of free perks and poor fiscal responsible actions such as outside fine dining parties also at our expense.
Mr. Joe Walsh should do his own homework and stop funding these other individuals for their own gain as a price to go door to door for his beliefs and re-election. Those who are elected need to stand by the mission statement of “We were elected to serve, not be served.”
