Mount Prospect special education organization to manage Kirk School showcase

Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity announced that the Showcase of Arts and Crafts will continue under the leadership of Northwest Suburban Special Education Organization Foundation of Mount Prospect. After 40 years of presentation, the showcase will remain a community event to benefit children with special needs.

Reta Holmgren, Alpha Gamma Delta alumna, who has served as the chairman of the Spring Showcase of Arts and Crafts event for the past 15 years, announced that Sandy Neumann of the Northwest Suburban Special Education Organization will take over as chairman of the showcase. The NSSEO Foundation board will handle all the arrangements to produce the showcase.

Alumnae of Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity and PATHS (Parents and Teachers of Handicapped Students) worked as a team to organize and facilitate the many committees needed to make the showcase a social and philanthropic weekend event.

Samuel A. Kirk School in Palatine has been the chief beneficiary of the showcase. Over $350,000 has been given to Kirk School for major projects not included in regular funding, such as an independent living unit, a playground for children who use wheelchairs, and a van.
