Mt. Prospect Mavericks take division title

Congratulations to the 2012 14U Mount Prospect Mavericks.

The Mavericks won their division in the MSBL travel league with a 15-3 record. They also went on to win the 20-team postseason championship, going 6-0 in tournament play, beating Arlington Heights 3-2 in the semifinals, and winning the championship game over Deerfield with an exciting 8-7 comeback victory.

The Mavericks team is made up of 13 players from Mount Prospect, and have played in the MSBL the last four years.

Following the league tournament, the Mavericks went on to finish third in the Northbrook tournament, and finished the season with a second-place finish in the Fourth of July Lake Zurich tournament, losing to Menomenee Falls, Wis. The team’s overall record was 27-10.
