Man believed to rob Schaumburg, Westchester TCF banks
The FBI believes the same man who robbed a TCF bank in Schaumburg on Sunday afternoon also robbed a TCF bank in Westchester earlier in the day.
At 11 a.m. Sunday, FBI agents responded to a robbery at 2128 South Mannheim Road in Westchester. The robber presented a demand note to a teller and implied he had a weapon, according to a news release. The man, who left on foot after receiving an undisclosed sum of money, was accompanied by a male wearing a gray sweatshirt and pants and a blue baseball cap.
At 2 p.m. Sunday, a man with a similar description as the Westchester robber approached a teller at the TCF bank inside the Jewel-Osco at 2501 West Schaumburg Road, demanded money and showed a plastic bag, Schaumburg police Sgt. John Nebl said. The man fled on foot after an undisclosed amount of money was placed in the bag. He was not accompanied by a second person.
A weapon was not displayed in either robbery, authorities said.
The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, standing 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 150 pounds. He has a thin build and was last seen wearing a beige baseball cap, a black T-shirt over a black long-sleeved shirt, jeans and black gym shoes.
The FBI and Schaumburg Police Department are investigating.
