Lombard Fire Department responds to structure fire

LOMBARD, Illinois—The Lombard Fire Department responded Sunday afternoon to a reported structure fire of a three story multi-unit residential building located at 21 West Ash Street.

Upon arrival, the Lombard firefighters were met with a fire on the second floor of the multi-family residential building.

According to Lombard Battalion Chief Marty Coomes, the quick response of the firefighters confined the fire to only one unit.

Two residents were treated and transported by paramedics to Good Samaritan Hospital from injuries sustained at the fire.

The Lombard Firefighters were assisted on the scene by fire companies from Downers Grove, Villa Park, Addison, York Center and Oak Brook.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by Lombard's Fire Investigation Unit with damage estimated at approximately $50,000.
