Early trash pickup due to heat
Residents of some towns might hear the clatter of garbage pickup trucks earlier Thursday and Friday, due to the heat.
Geneva officials announced garbage pickup will start at 6 a.m. Thursday, as will city construction projects. The aim is to have workers end their shifts by 2 p.m. so they are not out working in the hottest part of the day.
In North Aurora, garbage pickup will start at 5 a.m. Friday.
In Campton Hills, garbage pickup will begin at 5 a.m. Thursday and Friday.
Veolia Environmental Services, which serves Batavia, plans to start by 6 a.m., and has asked customers to put their garbage out the night before to facilitate that.
St. Charles’ and Elburn’s residential garbage was picked up Wednesday, and Sugar Grove’s on Tuesday.
