Boomers fall 5-1 to ThunderBolts
The Schaumburg Boomers lost back-to-back games at home for the first time this season, falling to the Windy City ThunderBolts 5-1 on Monday night.
Windy City (16-11) pulled within a game of the Boomers (18-11) in the West Division, riding the arm of starter Dustin Williams, who pitched a complete game. He allowed just three baserunners, walking one and striking out nine to improve to 4-2.
Brandon Decker opened the scoring in the second with a solo homer for Windy City. The ThunderBolts extended the lead to 4-0 with 3 unearned runs in the fourth.
Sean Mahley scored the Schaumburg run in the fourth with a solo homer over the wall in right field. Robbie Penny took the loss for the Boomers, pitching 4 innings.
