Deficit spending must be controlled

Spending in Washington is out of control The U.S. national debt is close to $16 trillion. Our national government continues to fail to do what any normal household does: Make a realistic budget and stick to it.

That’s one of the reasons I support Congressman Peter Roskam this November. He supports common-sense approaches to cutting wasteful spending, eliminating costly Medicare fraud, and overhauling the tax code.

More importantly, he understands we simply can’t keep spending money that we don’t have. Benjamin Franklin once said, “Beware of little expenses. A small leak will sink a great ship.”

I pray that the ship of our great nation doesn’t sink from the expenses we can’t afford to be making any longer.
