McHenry man charged with residential burglaries
A 42-year-old McHenry man has been charged in a string of residential burglaries in the McHenry Shores subdivision, according to police.
McHenry police alerted the public to the series of burglaries on June 5 and announced the arrest of Joseph P. McQuade on Wednesday. Police arrested McQuade Tuesday night, and he confessed to his involvement in four separate McHenry residential burglaries and one attempted residential burglary, according to authorities.
McQuade, of the 1100 block of Bonita Lane, which is in the subdivision, is being held in lieu of $8,500 bail on four counts of residential burglary, one count of theft over $300, three counts of theft under $300 and one count of criminal trespass to residence, according to police.
When police sent out an alert warning the public of the break-ins, they indicated that the burglaries occurred during daytime hours when residents were not home.
Police said the investigation into McQuade is ongoing, and additional charges may be coming from the McHenry department and other agencies in McHenry County.
McQuade is due back in court on Monday, June 18.
