Poplar Creek library invites adults to join summer reading program

Adult library customers are invited to read books, earn prizes, and have fun as they partake in the Poplar Creek Public Library’s annual Summer Reading Program.

All adults 18 years and older may participate in the Adult Reading Program, “Reading is Soo Delicious,” through July 31. Registration began on June 1. Register online at www.poplarcreeklibrary.org or by stopping in the main or branch library.

In order to complete the program, readers must read or listen to six Poplar Creek books by Tuesday, July 31. Participants reading an additional seventh book, a cookbook or fiction book with a cooking theme, will also be enrolled in a special drawing.

Book Discussion Groups: The library hosts three different book clubs during the summer months. People interested in reading are invited to join one, or more of the following groups: Books and Bagels, 10:30 a.m. on the second Wednesday the month; Bookies, 7 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month; and Mysteries by the Book, noon on the fourth Thursday of the month.Groups meet in meeting rooms 2 and 3 at the main library.
