‘We the people’ are responsible
I think people are forgetting who is responsible for the financial crisis that federal, state and local governments are in. Yes, it is the Democrats and Republicans, and, yes, “We the people” ourselves.
For far too many years, people have just rubber stamped incumbents re-election, complained but never acted on terrible government and generally just put their head in the sand. Outside of a few calls or emails a year to elected officials I am guilty as well.
Good news is there is a cure and we need to act now. Throw the bums out of office and if they were crooked bums let them join Blago and Ryan in Club Fed. Get out and act, call your officials, send them letters, go to their offices and ask for personal meetings; if they are meeting with you they have less time to make backroom deals.
We need to be seen, heard and hold the people accountable who are supposed to work for us, not us working for their personal gain. I urge all of you to call and write all levels of government and demand the accountability we deserve.
By the way, there is nothing government can do that we the people can’t do better.
