Schaumburg police investigating possible shots fired

Schaumburg police were investigating a report of shots fire Wednesday night, but were unsure if anyone had been injured, officials said.

Officers responded to the area of Knollwood Drive and Pennview Lane at about 9 p.m. after receiving a call reporting the shots, Sgt. John Nebl said.

Officers were searching a park in the area for evidence of shots being fired, but as of about 10 p.m., police could not confirm that shots had been fired.

No further information was available late Wednesday.
