Trump bypasses facts in citizenship issue
Donald Trump, in his inveterate political style of pretending to run for office, has linked his contrarian nature to something that offends many Republicans and almost all Democrats — the question of Barack Obama’s country of birth. Trump’s persona has all the qualities of someone who’s oblivious to his surroundings, not wondering or caring who he insults or how he does it. He just needs to convince the uninformed, misinformed and politically aligned to keep him going.
Did Trump consider how George W. Romney, Mitt’s father, could run for the presidency in 1968 against Richard Nixon when he was born in Mexico? Doesn’t the Constitution specifically state that one must be a natural born citizen? If Mitt’s father was eligible, wouldn’t Obama be as well, even if Trump rejects his incontrovertible proof that he was born in Hawaii?
