Mt. Prospect Friday on the Green Concert Series

The Village of Mount Prospect is excited to announce the schedule for the 2012 Fridays on the Green concert series.

Last year's events were so well received the series has been expanded to two concerts a month. Concerts will be held on the Village Green in front of Village Hall, 50 S. Emerson Street, on the first and third Fridays of each month, June – September. Shows begin at 6:00 p.m.

The line-up is as follows:

On June 1, it will be Friday Night Lawn Jockeys (Ken Dix); June 15, Diving For Dynamite; July 6, Suburban Cowboys; July 20, Stache; Aug. 3, Mosquitoes Jam Band; Aug. 17, A Thousand Julys; Sept. 7, Jack Straw; and Sept. 21, The Committee Band.

“We have been focusing on creating events that bring people to downtown Mount Prospect. We have so much to offer – we want to bring people together and remind them of all the great businesses we have in our town,” said Dawn Fletcher Collins, executive director of the Mount Prospect Chamber of Commerce.

Concert-goers are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets and pick up dinner or snacks at a local Mount Prospect restaurant, or enjoy a meal before or after the show.

“The purpose of the Downtown Merchants Association is to bring people into the downtown to eat, shop and have fun. The Friday events are a great way to do it – it's Friday, it's fun, and it's free!”said Downtown Merchants Association President and co-owner of Byte Me! Computers, Roberta Hamann.

The Friday events are a partnership between the Village of Mount Prospect, Mount Prospect Chamber of Commerce and the Mount Prospect Downtown Merchants Association.

Sponsorship opportunities for the Friday events are available, please contact Maura at 847/818-5308 for details. For more information about this and other great events, visit www.experiencemountprospect.org.
