Social worker to present information on mental health in Batavia
Submitted by TriCity Family Services
Retiring Family Services division director Tom Dewese will present “Minding Your Mental Health, Easy to Say, Hard to Do … and Other Things I’ve Learned at TriCity Family Services” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 29. You are invited to join TriCity Family Services at the Batavia Public Library, 10 S. Batavia Ave., and attend this presentation to hear Dewese reflect on his 28 years serving the mental health needs of the community.
Dewese, a licensed clinical social worker, joined TriCity Family Services in 1984 and his mark on the community is as profound as the mark of the agency itself. He was also recently honored with the 2012 Lyle E. Oncken Community Services Award by the INC Board. He was named Social Worker of the Year by the National Association of Social Workers in 2009.
During the presentation, attendees will hear: what he didn’t know then that he knows now, what has changed in mental health over the decades and what has stayed the same, and other words of wisdom about families, parenting, mental illness, therapy and community mental health.
This presentation is being provided free and all are welcome to attend. For information, call TriCity Family Services at (630) 232-1070 or visit www.tricityfamilyservices.org.
