Help for struggling Lake County homeowners

Homeowners struggling with mortgage payments and facing foreclosure are invited to a mortgage relief project from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 9 at the College of Lake County Southlake Campus, 1120 S. Milwaukee Ave., Vernon Hills.

Attendees will learn about new government programs that can help lower mortgage payments, legal rights, credit counseling and how to recognize mortgage fraud. Certified counselors will be present to offer private, one-on-one assistance. Homeowners should bring their latest mortgage bills, statements, and related information.
